ABOUT US
CAP Reading and Speech is a small private practice run by the sole proprietor, Chelsea A. Payraudeau, M.S. CCC-SLP, TSSLD. CAP Reading and Speech was created in 2021 to provide high-quality and evidence-based speech, language, and reading therapy to children in the Lower Hudson Valley region and Bergen County. Chelsea has been treating reading disorders since 2014 which ignited her interest in speech-language pathology.
Following Chelsea's undergraduate graduation, she became immersed in the research and understanding of reading and writing impairments and was employed by Lindamood-Bell Learning Processes, and thereafter certified in an Orton-Gillingham reading methodology.
Her passion for reading disorders lead her to pursue a master's degree in speech-language pathology. At New York Medical College, Chelsea honed her clinical skills in speech-language pathology and developed an in-depth understanding of human anatomy and physiology. Her clinical experience ranges from private clinics to charter/public schools to acute rehabilitation units in hospitals.
CAP Reading and Speech provides skilled reading and speech-language therapy that strives to create a respectful, accepting and understanding learning environment for all of its clients. Instruction is explicit and systematic, while being dynamic and fun!
